PREP TIME: 5-minutes
COOK TIME: 5-minutes
CALORIES: 170
INGREDIENTS:
2 Ripe Bananas
1 Tablespoon oil or butter
2 Tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove the peels from the bananas and slice them 1/2" thick.
2. Set a nonstick skillet over medium to medium high heat and add the oil or butter, honey, cinnamon and salt. Stir to combine.
3. Add the banana slices and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden and caramelized. Be sure to watch the heat and turn it down if it browns too quickly. You want enough heat to caramelize and brown the slices, but you don't want to burn them.
4. Once the bananas are cooked, you can enjoy them as is or as a topping to your favorite foods.
NOTES:
For this recipe, I prefer a more neutral cooking oil, such as coconut oil, but you may use any neutral oil (or butter) you prefer.
Don't use underripe bananas, but don't use overripe ones either. The bananas should be ripe so they're sweet and creamy, but not so ripe that they're brown and mushy.
